Our rattlesnake avoidance training takes place on our privately owned 20-acre ranch — no parks, no borrowed fields. That means your session is never canceled, the terrain is genuine, and your dog gets the full experience every time.
Our main training facility is a private 20-acre working ranch in Santa Clarita. With this much open space, we run full 12-station rattlesnake avoidance courses in a controlled environment that mirrors the real outdoor terrain your dog navigates every day — hills, brush, open land, and all.
This is where most of our group and individual sessions take place. The property is purpose-built for rattlesnake avoidance training with genuine SCV terrain — the same environment where real encounters happen.

Most trainers rent parks or use borrowed fields. That means strangers walking through mid-session, last-minute cancellations, and locations that change without notice. Our ranch is owned outright — no public access, no surprises.
"Walk in the park" clinics and driveway sessions are convenient — but convenient isn't the same as effective. Every distraction your dog fights through is attention that isn't going toward the actual lesson, and every unrelated scent on the ground is competing with the one scent that matters.
This isn't just comfort — it's generalization. When multiple cues compete for a dog's attention at once, learning theory calls it overshadowing: the dog's attention locks onto whatever's loudest (a passing car, another dog) and the actual lesson gets learned weakly, if at all. A clean environment removes that competition, so the response your dog builds here is the one that transfers to a real trail — not a fragile version of it that only worked in a noisy parking lot. "As someone with training experience, I was thoroughly impressed by their methodology. The setup is out in a dirt field — exactly the real-world environment where you'd actually encounter a snake. It was the ultimate test for my three crazy Jack Russells, who go after absolutely anything."
"This program is excellent and a huge improvement on what I've done before. In the other program, the snakes were hooded, stretched out, and behaved completely unnaturally — they didn't even rattle. Your snakes present real-world encounters in realistic places where snakes would be. This is a better program, 100%."

Most programs run 1–3 stations and call it done. Ours progresses through 12 — building, reinforcing, and stress-testing avoidance across distances, terrains, and stimuli.
Santa Clarita Valley's most-called rattlesnake catchers — hundreds of live removals annually. That's hands-on field experience guiding every session.
E-collar paired with reward-based reinforcement produces faster acquisition and stronger retention than R+ alone — proven by behavioral science.
